    The big round gear that the worm gear spins was completely worn out. I was able to rebuild my opener with this kit. It is good as new now. The manufacturer date was 1994. Looking forward to another 24 years of service.

    The parts were exactly what I needed, but the real value is the video instruction. I followed step by step and was able to change out every moving part in the opener so it's like we have a whole new garage door opener.

    The chain sprocket gear broke off the spindle. This part correct the issue and does so admirably. Installation is straight forward with two of three bolts accessible with a speed driver and the third with a small 5/16 wrench. I did NOT replace the worm drive gear which was included with the kit the worm drive was replaced approx. 6 years ago. Skipping the worm gear replacement simplified the repair considerably. Time will tell if this, skipping the worm drive gear was a good choice. I've retained the parts so if needed will go back in if/when worm drive gear or bearings fail.
