Upgrade for the plastic part January 27, 2017

The drive sprocket broke on one of my Genie garage door openers.  It was mostly metal, but the actual gear portion was plastic.  The replacement part appears to be all metal.  The replacement part was a recent addition to the service parts.  This may indicate that Genie is having trouble with the old design.

The belt gear was exactly like the original. It came promptly and securely packaged.
Found a utube video that showed how to change it as well.

Drive sprocket for Genie Belt Drive opener December 24, 2016

The part fit perfectly. Got my garage door opener back in operation. Saved me quiet a bit of money. Thought I was going to have to buy a new one, but found this part on gatehouse and it worked.
The only problem I had was the amount of time it took to get the part. It took 10 days by USPS.

Genie belt drive sprocket 38416A October 29, 2016

I ordered this sprocket for my Genie 1042 belt drive garage door opener from Gatehouse Remote Controls & Entry Systems. Arrived here quickly within 2 weeks. Now it is made of steel compared to the old one which was plastic and shattered when the first cold day came.This new one was easy to install and Gatehouse had the best price and cost less to ship from them. Gatehouse is my place to buy parts for my garage door opener now.

Replacement Part perfect September 12, 2016

Part is far superior to original plastic version. This part is built to last. Detailed instructions shipped with part easy to follow. Total replacement time about 1 hour, including drilling out rivets and reprogramming door travel limits.
